Extension Project in County Limerick by Krana Construction

This project involved the full renovation of an existing cottage with a brand-new rear extension, blending traditional charm with modern comfort.
The new extension was block-built and fitted with high-grade wall insulation and durable concrete floors, ensuring strength, warmth, and efficiency throughout.
A complete rewiring was carried out to modern safety standards.
Heating and comfort were brought up to today’s expectations with a new heat pump and underfloor heating system, expertly installed by Mike Crowe Heating & Plumbing in partnership with Ashgrove Renewables.
The new concrete subfloor was constructed with a Radin barrier, 150 mm PIR floor insulation, and finished with a liquid floor screed supplied by Enda Gleeson Superior Floor Screed, providing a seamless, energy-efficient base for the home.
To complete the transformation, the existing cottage was re-roofed, tying seamlessly into a new two-storey roof structure on the rear extension—combining old and new into a single, cohesive design.
The result is a beautifully upgraded home that preserves the character of the original cottage while delivering the comfort and efficiency of a modern build.
